Japan is the top ODA sponsor to Vietnam. Since 16th century, when Japanese traders came, Vietnam officially established diplomatic relationship with Japan. Japan supports renovation policy, supports Vietnam’s integration into region and the world. Especially, since integration into APEC, WTO, etc. the diplomatic relationship between Vietnam-Japan has been more and more quickly developing in all aspects namely economic, politic, cultural exchange, which are continuously expanding. Since then, the demand for mutual understanding of the two countries becomes urgent, demand for learning Japanese becomes extremely important. Therefore, in order for economic-politic-cultural span between Vietnam – Japan to have firm impetus to develop, the role of Japanese translation is can’t be omitted. Let’s understand a little about Japanese –the world’s second most difficult language, only after Arabic. Experiencing years of penetration into Vietnam, Japanese is now become popular in all aspects of activity.
Japanese is as “agglutinative language”, very complicated with a vigorous system of etiquette, in which “honorifics” is outstanding showing a very Japanese shows hierarchy, besides verb variants, combinations with some vocabulary words to indicate relationship between speaker, listener and the person mentioned in the conversation.
Japanese is known for 3 main types of letters: Kanji (Chinese characters), Hiragana (soft letter), Katakana (hard letters). Kanji is used to write Chinese loanwords or the words that a Japanese uses to express clear meaning, Chinese characters make up about 70-80% in a normal Japanese document. Hiragana is generally used for words of native Japanese origin. Katakana is used to transcribe phonetically foreign vocabulary, or emphasize to draw attention in writing. Besides, Rōmaji (Latin alphabet) is also used in modern Japanese language.
Japanese – complicated in nature in all grammar, vocabulary and conversation. So, to well learn this language, learners must be highly determined, have a serious long term study plan. Also learning Japanese, it is meant the same, compare and feel 2 following examples on addressing a meal. “Let’s eat!”; and “Parents please have dinner”. Clearly both ways of saying expressed “meant content”, however, to convey not only the “meant content”, but also the shade of meaning, emotion, the later is more sentimental, listener (“client” is parents) are certainly satisfactory, pleased and smile.
